Sustainability and the environment

At Springbank Rise, our expert master planning team has created a green suburb that stands out above the rest. Being on a slope, water is naturally treated as it flows through a series of swales and ponds prior to discharge into the surrounding waterways. The landscaped swales and ponds provide a high level of amenity resulting in a pleasant outdoor environment for outdoor activities and exercise.

Design Elements of Springbank Rise:
  • The central spine swale is designed to passively filter water run- off/storm water prior to reaching the waterways
  • 30 hectares of open space into the residential neighbourhoods
  • Hike and bike trails weave their way throughout the community to actively encourage walking and cycling and reduce the suburb’s environmental impact
  • Awareness and enjoyment of neighbouring farm land will be promoted to the community
  • The Display Village exhibits green building, achieving a minimum of 40% water reduction and solar power panels
  • Retention of many remnant eucalyptus trees across the site, including a major window along the eastern site boundary which forms a buffer between homes and Horse Park Drive
  • Recycling on site materials such as rocks for landscaping, with a cut and fill balance negating the need to transport earth to and from the site
  • Providing information to buyers on sustainability in the Building and Siting Requirements booklet
  • All houses are to achieve a minimum 6 star energy efficiency rating
  • All homes reduce potable water use by 40%
  • Water treatment facilities to increase water quality in Ponds and Waterways
In the future we are looking at:
Builders waste recycling programs;
Electric car charging points
Early implementation of bus routes through the estate
